Part of the Smoking Man series, this painting captures a quiet, cinematic moment of everyday life. A man in a blue fedora lights his cigarette while holding a newspaper, absorbed in his own small ritual. The loose, expressive brushwork and luminous palette of mint green, soft turquoise, and warm pink create a striking contrast with the figures darker tones.
There is something timeless about the scene, a fleeting glimpse of an ordinary moment transformed into something intriguing. The painting invites the viewer to imagine the mans story, his thoughts and the world beyond the frame.
